To the Editor We commend Christakis and colleagues for their timely and visionary Viewpoint on how artificial intelligence (AI) can be leveraged to promote inclusive health for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (PWIDD). Their call to move beyond concerns about algorithmic bias toward proactive, equity-focused innovation is not only welcome but urgently needed. As scholars in patient-centered care and health communication, we would like to expand on their argument by emphasizing the centrality of communication accessibility and patient empowerment in achieving true inclusivity.
